Principal Systems Engineer

Simon runs a solo consultancy out of Wollongong. His recent work includes building a zero-trust key management system in Zig with a Python middleware layer for Byterix Labs, optimizing Python ETL and Django for SwitchDin's platform, and shipping a cross-platform Rust + React desktop disk cleaner called Reclaimr. He has eight years of experience at Bonjoro, progressing from the first senior engineering hire to CTO, managing a team of six on AWS Lambda + MySQL Aurora + Redis. Simon is also a co-founder of gdzig (Zig bindings for Godot) and a co-founding maintainer of Scoop. He has also had two front-page HN posts this year.
