Senior Go/PostgreSQL Backend Engineer

7+ years as a backend/infra engineer, mostly in Go. Currently senior at a fintech company working on large-scale payment infrastructure. Proven track record in partitioning 5TB+ PostgreSQL transaction tables (~500 RPS) with near-zero downtime, cutting query times by 20% and halving DB costs. Redesigned a reconciliation engine from Excel to XML-based processing, speeding it up 25%. Led cross-region DR drills on Aurora achieving 0 RPO / 10-min RTO. Day-to-day responsibilities include system design, leading a small team, tuning Postgres performance at scale (vacuum strategies, indexing, query plans), building out observability with Prometheus, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Terraform + Git-based workflows. Previous experience includes building backend services at a payments company and containerizing ML pipelines on AWS.
