Backend Software Engineer

Hey folks! I'm looking for roles in "the trenches" as it were: deep backend software work, infrastructure, devxp/productivity, or even more systems/Linux CLI type of stuff. My recent background could be described as a bit of "mutt SRE": backend app code mixed in with observability and reliability work mixed in with evangelizing best development practices mixed in with, of course, deployment and Ops and AWS/Heroku/DigitalOcean infrastructure work.

My ideal work environment is something less than 5 days a week (my most recent job was a Tues-Fri shop), but I'm open to discussion on that. I'm open to full-time, part-time, or <=32h contract/retainer types of work. Flexibility in working arrangements in general is the best way to catch my eye! In a truly ideal world, I'd love to continue to work on open-source stuff, or things adjacent to it; as seen on my GitHub (@klardotsh) and GitLab (same username), I love contributing to the scene that has given and taught me so much. But, I'm open to just about anything stable, and preferably smaller-scale (teams where you can remember everyone's name without much strain!).
