Senior Scala Distributed Systems Engineer

Senior backend engineer with deep experience in distributed systems, Scala, cloud infrastructure, and developer tooling. Strong background in functional programming, CI/CD modernization, and scalable services. Remote strongly preferred, but will consider opportunities in the St. Louis, MO area. US citizen. Has experience in developing web applications using various UI stacks, but prefers backend development. Experienced as team lead, technical lead, and mentor. Proponent of leveraging AI tools for code generation/inspection/reasoning, and automation, striving to make life easier for both developers and end-users. Enjoys working on interesting and challenging problems, especially science-related ones, and on systems that impact large numbers of people. Contributing to open source projects would be a huge plus.
