Principal Cloud Platform Engineer

Brendan Vinson is a highly experienced engineer with 20 years of total engineering experience, with the last 5 years dedicated to platform and cloud roles at a regulated bank. They led the replatforming of a contractor-built AWS multi-account into FFIEC/GLBA-compliant standards-based architecture. Their accomplishments include establishing federated HashiCorp orchestration (Vault Enterprise, Nomad, Consul), implementing GitLab Enterprise from inception, setting up LGTM/OpenTelemetry observability for Java/Spring Boot services, and distributing developer tooling via a private Homebrew tap. Brendan is particularly interested in observability platforms, data infrastructure, and AI engineering, focusing on applications where AI enhances human judgment. They are currently developing infrastructure tooling in Go using agentic workflows. Brendan is adept at working across the entire technology stack and publishes on engineering decision frameworks and AI-augmented development workflows. They are pursuing CKA certification and are not interested in opportunities within the defense, crypto, or gambling sectors.
