Candidate profile
Market-facing CTO for AI/ML Infrastructure
Description
Calle Moberg is a highly experienced co-founder and field-facing CTO with a strong background in distributed systems, edge computing, container orchestration, network automation, and AI/ML infrastructure. He was the co-founder and field-facing CTO at Avassa, a distributed edge control plane for multi-site orchestration of containerized workloads. Prior to that, he served as VP Engineering and CTO at Tail-f Systems, which was acquired by Cisco. He spent six years at Cisco as Senior Director of Product Management, growing the NSO product line to $100M ARR with over 150 enterprise customers. Calle co-authored RFC 8199 and has strong opinions on data models, focusing on architectural decisions to prevent future issues rather than writing production code. He excels at translating complex technical discussions for both customer and executive audiences, and has a proven track record of presenting technical problems convincingly at events like Edge Field Day, KubeCon, Hannover Messe, and embedded world. He has also served on expert panels such as the IETF YANG Doctors and the Linux Foundation Margo technical working group. Calle is seeking market-facing CTO, Field CTO, or VP Solutions Engineering roles at application-layer or AI/data companies, with a clear direction towards data and AI. He is not interested in pure infrastructure, internally-facing CTO, or individual contributor roles.
