Principal Engineering Leader, Kubernetes & TypeScript

Thomas is a Full-stack engineer turned engineering leader with 13+ years of experience building and scaling web platforms. He recently modernized a biodiversity monitoring platform at Helmholtz (UFZ), consolidating scattered repositories into a monorepo, building the entire CI/CD pipeline, designing Helm umbrella charts, and deploying observability from scratch. Previously, he led backend and frontend teams (7 engineers) at a location-based mobile startup, where he designed the GraphQL architecture, executed an AWS EKS migration, and built a push notification system. He is equally comfortable writing resolvers and Helm charts, with TypeScript and Kubernetes being his home turf. He is fluent in German and English.
