Description

Mike Kramlich is a highly experienced software engineer with decades of programming experience, solid fundamentals, and a strong troubleshooting ability. He has worked as a tech lead/architect and has SRE-ish experience, successfully solving legacy Heisenbugs and shipping multiple projects. He is the author of a perf cheatsheet and is currently writing a book on HPC. Mike is a US citizen and native English speaker. His past experience includes working at Orbitz on core tech (JVM, GC, perf regress follow-up, ops, logs, instrumentation, caches, sessions, threads, db connections). He also conducted research and due diligence for the US State Dept on public defenses against foreign adversarial propaganda & disinformation. Mike has been a game engine creator and toolmaker since childhood and once built a small software business. Recently, he performed system programming R&D on memory allocation latency and SEGV resilience using C on Linux, delivering code, benchmarks, diagrams, and a report on upgrading performance and availability for a soft-RT, $-impacting backend. He is also the author of LatLearn, a FOSS Golang latency instrumentation and reporting library. His technical expertise includes Golang, C, Python, Java, SQL, git, Docker, Linux/POSIX, Internet & web development, cloud IaaS, distributed systems, concurrency & threading, performance & scalability, and some math & ML.
