Experienced Systems Engineer

Experienced software engineer with 20+ years in the industry, including 10 years @ Google. Generalist with a systems focus. Background doing both embedded (MCU and ARM SoC, consumer hardware) and high performance distributed backend dev. Most recent $work -- and most recent personal interest/emphasis -- is in database internals (current nerd excitement for Umbra & LeanStore papers, for example.) Currently working full time in Rust, but extensive C++ background and plenty of other languages as well. Available on short notice. Open for fulltime or consulting work.
