Michael Douma is an expert in product and design for complex technical systems, with a strong background in semantic systems and LLM orchestration. He founded an indie game studio focusing on semantic word games and has a history of impactful projects including SpicyNodes (visualization, 40M users), time.gov (1999), and a medical AI serving 1.5M patients. He has also served as a judge for IGF, MagFest, CODiE, GEE, and Serious Games. Michael is seeking full-time employee roles in Series A–C companies (10–50 people) that are developing developer tools, learning platforms, or data products. He aims to apply game design principles to improve user engagement, onboarding, repeated use, and reduce cognitive load, moving products beyond an 'enterprise Java circa 2003' feel.
