High-Performance Code Developer

My big interest these days tends to lie in high-performance code (minimizing latency if necessary), but coming from a theoretical/computational physics background, I can rapidly pick up anything with a mathematical or scientific computing bent to it. I have an interest in Haskell, but realistically I'm not up to snuff yet to try for a job doing it.
