Senior Backend & AI/LLM Engineer

Backend operator with experience in enterprise systems, operations, and product execution. Most of their work has been in ambiguous, high responsibility environments requiring technical depth, judgment, systems thinking, and coordination across technical and business domains. Holds an MSc in Quantitative Economics. Recently, they built and deployed a production RAG platform (Python, FastAPI, React, Qdrant), including ingestion pipelines, hybrid retrieval, ranking/debugging workflows, and tooling to improve retrieval quality, reliability, and system stability as datasets scaled. Previously, they have 10+ years of experience building and owning backend, data and reporting systems across ERP, BI, and integrations. They were responsible for the reliability and audit integrity of business-critical systems in multinational operations, led technical delivery teams across engineering, finance, and IT, and have end-to-end delivery experience in independent product/founder environments. Primarily interested in short to mid-term contract or project based engagements, open to longer term collaboration where there is strong mutual fit.
