Alex is a Senior backend / platform Individual Contributor with over 10 years of experience in distributed systems, having worked at companies like Uber, DoorDash, and Jobscan. They are seeking a hands-on senior IC role in infrastructure, developer platforms, or applied AI systems. At Uber, Alex was a Developer Advocate for Cadence, an open-source workflow engine, where they onboarded numerous teams, managed multi-region failovers, and improved the platform. Prior to Uber, they developed a refund rules engine at DoorDash and significantly improved uptime and recovered revenue at Jobscan as Interim Head of Engineering. Currently, Alex is actively involved in several projects: Pursuit (co-founder of an agent-to-agent recruiting platform using AI), Meridian (developing a 29k-line TypeScript autonomous goal-graph executor utilizing Postgres and MCP for LLM-backed agents), ApplyPilot (OSS multi-provider LLM orchestration with cost-aware routing and Playwright integration), and OpenAI Parameter Golf (contributed to an LLM-training challenge, gaining hands-on experience with quantization, test-time training, Triton kernels, and Hessian-based calibration).
