Description

Stuart Johnson is a Chief AI Architect / Director of AI with over 15 years of experience spanning ML, software engineering, data science, and global team leadership. He specializes in owning end-to-end architecture for enterprise AI products, covering areas from high-throughput sensor/IoT ingestion and RL/MPC control to agentic LLM workflows, computer vision, and user-facing product development. His significant impacts include designing a hybrid MPC + reinforcement-learning control system that reduced industrial plant energy usage by approximately 10%, building and scaling a distributed AI/software/data team from 5 to 25 members while enhancing experimental rigor and delivery cadence, and standardizing Kubernetes delivery across cloud, on-prem, and air-gapped environments, which cut deployment time from two weeks to three days. He has also contributed to an FDA-cleared prostate-cancer detection system and delivered ML solutions for merger-approval prediction, legal-document summarization, and warehouse optimization. Stuart holds an MSc in Computing Science from the University of Alberta and has one pending US patent in Reinforcement Learning. He is seeking Chief AI Architect, Director/Head of AI, or hands-on principal-level roles, open to full-time, fractional, or advisory capacities.
